OR-MEP Role: Copywriter

What motivates you in this role?

I believe housing is a human right and am thrilled to support the development of new and updating of existing affordable housing. As a Portland resident, I am well aware of the struggles my fellow Oregonians face when it comes to housing. It wasn’t too long ago that I myself would worry if I’d come up short when rent was due, so I want to do whatever I can to help make housing more accessible to those who need it most.

What excites you most about the Multifamily Energy Program?

OR-MEP’s mission resonates strongly with my own beliefs, so I’m really excited to be working on this program. I hope the work I put into this program will help affordable housing developers and community organizations pursue their projects and incorporate energy efficiency wherever possible.

What is one fun fact about you that you think people would love to know?

I have a deep appreciation of movies that borders on obsessive. You can probably find me at the cinema upwards of three times a week. One of these days I’ll finally get around to writing the Academy Award-winning screenplay I know I’ve got in me.

What is your favorite place that you’ve traveled to in Oregon?

I’ve been to nearly every part of Oregon and love the variety of scenery you can experience here. As for my favorite place, I’d have to say the rugged beauty of the John Day River basin can’t be matched. Cottonwood Canyon State Park is simply unbelievable. Never in my life did I think I’d be so fond of the high desert.
