OR-MEP Role:
Program Oversight
What motivates you in this role?
I have worked in the energy efficiency field for the past 15 years, with most of my work focused on low-income programs. I love that the work we do is helping to save the earth (one lightbulb at a time!), while also helping to immediately and tangibly improve the lives of the people who live in these buildings.
What excites you most about the Multifamily Energy Program?
The people. And I don’t just mean the people on this team, although they are pretty amazing too. I mean the building staff, housing advocates, and policy makers that I have met through this program that are so passionate about Oregon’s housing crisis and helping the people that are most affected by it. Oregon’s “housers” are truly inspirational!
What is one fun fact about you that you think people would love to know?
I have lived in eight states – several of them more than once – and have visited 49 of the 50 states. I hope to visit the last one, Hawaii, very soon!
What is your favorite place that you’ve traveled to in Oregon?
So far, it is Neskowin Beach. It is a small lovely beach town that is less crowded than most Oregon beaches and is nicely located between Pacific City (hello, Pelican Brewing) and Lincoln City for when you need civilization. That said, I have many other places that are on my bucket list still remaining!
