Name:
Carrie Bee
OR-MEP Role:
Energy Advisor, Oregon Multifamily Energy Program
What motivates you in this role?
I am motivated by the opportunity to use my experience and knowledge of building science and energy efficiency to reduce Oregon’s energy use while providing comfortable, affordable housing for Oregon residents.
What excites you most about the Multifamily Energy Program?
Learning about all the amazing projects from the teams that are so passionate about providing efficient, affordable housing. I can hear the excitement and positivity in their voice, and it provides continuous motivation to work with each of them to find the best solution for their unique path. The project teams I work with are determined to make building improvements and I love finding opportunities to help them navigate the complex journey of making their multifamily projects a reality.
What is one fun fact about you that you think people would love to know?
I was a temporary weather anchor in my hometown of Fairbanks, Alaska for one of the local news stations.
What is your favorite place that you’ve traveled to in Oregon?
I love living in Oregon and try to continuously explore this beautiful state, although I feel I’ve only scratched the surface of what Oregon has to offer. There are so many amazing places I’ve visited, but most of my favorites thus far have been river spots along the Santiam, Clackamas, and McKenzie rivers. If you pick a hiking, camping, or swimming spot along any of these rivers you really can’t go wrong.
