A new virtual training, hosted by the Northwest Energy Efficiency Council’s Smart Buildings Center, is available for all multifamily facility staff to expand their skills and knowledge of energy efficient facility operation.
The Building Operator Certification (BOC) Multifamily Training is designed for multifamily facility operators with two or more years of experience in operation and maintenance of multifamily facilities who wish to broaden their knowledge of building systems maintenance.
The training will take place on Zoom from November 2, 2022 to April 27, 2023. Completion of the BOC Multifamily Training requires a time commitment of 74 hours which includes eight class modules, work-site projects, and open-book tests. Fees are $1,895 for registration and $285 for the optional certification exam.
Energy Trust of Oregon can provide additional incentives that could offset a portion of the costs for obtaining a Building Operator Certificate. More details can be found at www.energytrust.org/commercial/tools-resources.
Studies show that BOC-credentialed facilities staff can significantly reduce annual utility costs. Interested facility operators should register by October 19, 2022 to join this fall’s BOC Multifamily Training.
